What We Treat in This Region

The neck is a small structure carrying a lot of load, and problems here rarely stay in one place: they send pain into the head, the shoulder blade and down the arm, and they drive headaches, dizziness and jaw pain. Our full pages cover neck pain, whiplash, concussion, headaches and migraines, vertigo and BPPV and TMJ. The conditions below are treated with the same care and get their own page as demand grows.

Conditions A–M

A nerve root in the neck compressed by a disc bulge or bony narrowing, causing pain, tingling or numbness into the shoulder blade, arm or hand, sometimes with weakness. Treatment: neurological assessment, directional exercises to centralize symptoms, manual therapy, nerve gliding, traction where helpful and postural retraining. Most resolve without surgery over 6–12 weeks.

Neck, upper back and shoulder pain from hours over phones and screens, with rounded shoulders and a forward-carried head. Treated with mobility work for the upper back, strengthening of the deep neck and shoulder blade muscles, massage for the trapezius, and workstation and habit changes that actually stick.

Symptoms — headache, dizziness, fog, fatigue, sensitivity — lasting beyond the usual recovery window after a concussion. Treated with a combination of neck treatment, vestibular rehab, graded exertion testing and return-to-work planning. See our concussion management page.

Sudden one-sided facial weakness from inflammation of the facial nerve. Physiotherapy supports recovery with facial neuromuscular retraining, eye protection guidance and, in the recovery phase, exercises to restore symmetry and reduce unwanted movements. Ideally started early alongside medical treatment.

Neck and upper back pain following a collision, with or without whiplash-associated symptoms. Covered under Section B and treated by our car accident program.

Our Patients Share Their Journey

After my motor vehicle accident, I was dealing with intense neck pain, lower back discomfort, and stiffness that made even simple movements difficult. Coming to Apollo Physio truly made a huge difference in my recovery journey. I received treatment from Vidhi, my physiotherapist, Janki, my massage therapist, and chiropractic care from Dr. Dhaliwal and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. Vidhi created a well-structured treatment plan and guided me through exercises that gradually improved my strength and mobility. She explained everything clearly and kept track of my progress at every step. Janki’s massage therapy sessions were incredibly helpful in reducing muscle tightness and relieving pain. After each session, I felt more relaxed and could move more freely. Chiropractic sessions with Dr. Dhaliwal were also a key part of my recovery. His adjustments helped improve my alignment and significantly reduced the stiffness and discomfort I was experiencing. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and made sure I was comfortable throughout each session. Within a few weeks, I noticed major improvements less pain, better movement, and a return to my normal daily routine. The combined approach of physiotherapy, massage, and chiropractic care really made the recovery process faster and more effective. The clinic is clean, well organized, and has a very positive and welcoming environment. The front desk staff are friendly and always helpful with booking and insurance related questions. I’m truly grateful to the entire team at Apollo Physio, especially Vidhi, Janki, and Dr. Dhaliwal, for their care and support. About Neck & Head Conditions We Treat

A headache generated by the upper neck joints and muscles, felt at the base of the skull and over one side of the head, with neck stiffness. Treated with upper cervical mobilization or manipulation, deep neck flexor strengthening, trigger point release and posture correction. See our full headache page.

A sudden locked neck, often on waking, with sharp pain and the head held to one side. Usually a facet joint or muscle spasm. Gentle mobilization, heat, dry needling and graded movement typically settle it within days; we see these same-day.

Unsteadiness and light-headedness without spinning, accompanied by neck pain and stiffness, often after whiplash. Distinguished from inner-ear vertigo by assessment and treated with upper cervical mobilization, proprioceptive retraining and neck strengthening.

A disc bulge in the neck pressing on a nerve root, producing arm pain, tingling or weakness. Treated as radiculopathy: neurological monitoring, directional exercise, manual therapy and traction. See our herniated disc page.

Sharp, shooting pain at the back of the head from irritation of the occipital nerves, often mistaken for migraine. Treated with suboccipital release, upper cervical mobilization, dry needling and posture work.
