What Deep Tissue Massage Is
Deep tissue massage uses slow, firm pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Rather than a full-body flow, your therapist works into specific problem areas — the upper traps and neck of a desk worker, the low back of a driver, the hips and calves of a runner — releasing adhesions and chronic tightness that lighter massage does not reach.
Our RMTs deliver deep tissue treatment as part of our massage therapy service for patients across Cityscape, Skyview Ranch, Redstone, Cornerstone, Savanna, Saddle Ridge and Cornerbrook, many of them shift workers from the airport and warehouse corridor.
What Deep Tissue Massage Helps With
Deep tissue work is most often booked for:
- Chronic neck and shoulder tension from desk and screen work
- Low back tightness from long commutes and driving
- Tension headaches starting at the base of the skull
- Tight hips, glutes and hamstrings from sitting or training
- Recovery from heavy lifting, warehouse and trades work
- Sports recovery and stubborn trigger points
- Postural strain and rounded shoulders
- Old injuries that never fully loosened up
What to Expect in Your Session
After a brief history, your therapist warms the tissue with broader strokes, then works slowly into the deeper layers using forearms, elbows, knuckles and sustained pressure. It is intense but should never be sharp or unbearable — you set the limit. Some soreness for a day or two afterward is normal; drinking water and gentle movement helps.
If your therapist finds a joint restriction or strength deficit behind the tightness, our physiotherapists and chiropractor are on the same chart. For stubborn trigger points, dry needling pairs well with deep tissue work.

Our Patients Share Their Journey
After my motor vehicle accident, I was dealing with intense neck pain, lower back discomfort, and stiffness that made even simple movements difficult. Coming to Apollo Physio truly made a huge difference in my recovery journey. I received treatment from Vidhi, my physiotherapist, Janki, my massage therapist, and chiropractic care from Dr. Dhaliwal and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. Vidhi created a well-structured treatment plan and guided me through exercises that gradually improved my strength and mobility. She explained everything clearly and kept track of my progress at every step. Janki’s massage therapy sessions were incredibly helpful in reducing muscle tightness and relieving pain. After each session, I felt more relaxed and could move more freely. Chiropractic sessions with Dr. Dhaliwal were also a key part of my recovery. His adjustments helped improve my alignment and significantly reduced the stiffness and discomfort I was experiencing. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and made sure I was comfortable throughout each session. Within a few weeks, I noticed major improvements less pain, better movement, and a return to my normal daily routine. The combined approach of physiotherapy, massage, and chiropractic care really made the recovery process faster and more effective. The clinic is clean, well organized, and has a very positive and welcoming environment. The front desk staff are friendly and always helpful with booking and insurance related questions. I’m truly grateful to the entire team at Apollo Physio, especially Vidhi, Janki, and Dr. Dhaliwal, for their care and support. I highly recommend them to anyone recovering from a motor vehicle accident or dealing with pain they genuinely care and deliver excellent results.

The front desk staff are equally friendly and professional, making each visit seamless and enjoyable. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of physiotherapy. The team here genuinely cares about your well-being and goes above and beyond to help you recover!
I started visiting Ramesh Bimagani after a motor vehicle accident that caused pain in my shoulders and lower back. From the very first session, he was extremely professional, kind, and attentive. He took the time to understand my condition and explain everything clearly, which helped me feel confident and supported throughout the recovery process. Ramesh created a personalized treatment plan that focused on relieving my pain and improving mobility. His hands-on techniques and guided exercises made a huge difference — I could feel the improvement after just a few sessions. He’s patient, encouraging, and truly dedicated to helping his clients heal. Thanks to Ramesh, my shoulder and back pain have improved significantly, and I feel much stronger and more active again.
